Young Professionals for Better Schools Reception

Young Professionals for Better Schools is a diverse group of Houstonians supporting the HISD Bond which is dedicated to a plan to rebuild or renovate 38 of the city’s oldest schools, including 28 high schools, and improve safety and technology at campuses city-wide. Young Professionals for Better Schools will work hard to build support for the HISD Bond in November, the first step in transforming Houston by rebuilding our schools.

 

 

Show Us Your Spirit

By now you have probably seen the Houston Students, Teachers & Principals Get Out the Vote — Gangnam Style video.

Now it is your turn!  We have several key messages that are crucial to ensuring the passage of the HISD Bond and we think you are just the creative minds to help us do that.   Upload a photo of you, your family, your kiddos, even your pets helping us spread the word.   The more creative the better!  Maybe that means you taking a picture with your Vote FOR Our Schools Yard Sign, or maybe you can teach your parrot to say “Go to the end of the ballot.”  If you think it will help people remember these key messages, we want to see it.

Here are the key messages:

  • Keep going to the End of the Ballot to Vote For the HISD Bond.
  • Vote Early from October 22 – November 2
  • Vote FOR the HISD Bond!

Here are the submission guidelines:

  • You must complete the Media Consent and Release Form (below).
  • You must be authorized to use the photo or video (i.e. no copyright violations).
  • You may submit as many photos as you would like. Focus on one, two or all three key messages.
  • All photos will be viewed by a Citizens for Better Schools committee member prior to being uploaded to our website, Facebook page, and/or, the Great Schools Houston e-newsletter.
  • The final decision about which photos will be used will be made by a Citizens for Better Schools committee member.
  • Most of all, have fun and be creative!  We can’t wait to see what you come up with.

 

MEDIA CONSENT AND RELEASE FORM

By completing this form, I grant permission to Citizens for Better Schools for the use of the photograph(s) and electronic media images referenced below of myself and/or members of my family in connection with the 2012 HISD Bond campaign in any presentation of any and all kind whatsoever. I understand that I may revoke this authorization at any time by notifying Citizens for Better Schools, 4621 Montrose, Suite B110 Houston, TX 77006 in writing. The revocation will not affect any actions taken before the receipt of this written notification. Images will be stored in a secure location and only authorized staff will have access to them. They will be kept as long as they are relevant and after that time destroyed or archived. a. This is with the understanding that neither Citizens for Better Schools nor its representatives will reproduce said photograph, interview, or likeness for any commercial value or receive monetary gain for use of any reproduction/broadcast of said photograph or likeness. I am also fully aware that I will not receive monetary compensation for my child’s participation. b. I further release and relieve Citizens for Better Schools, its Board, employees, and other representatives from any liabilities, known or unknown, arising out of the use of this material.
