Citizens for Better Schools is a diverse group of people from across the Houston Independent School District who want to see its crumbling infrastructure replaced to better enable our children to learn.

We formed a political action committee to raise funds and mount a campaign to ensure the success of HISD’s 2012 Bond proposal.

Some of us graduated from HISD, some of us have kids in HISD schools and some of us just believe that state-of-the-art schools producing a well-educated population is necessary for the continued economic prosperity of our community and the growth of our neighborhoods.

We applaud HISD for its plan to work with stakeholders at each school to help design a facility that each individual community wants.  Historic architecture will be protected.  Buildings will meet the highest environmental standards.  The latest technology will be made available to students across the district.

So, we are speaking out, taking action, raising awareness and voting for the HISD Bonds.  Join us in our effort.
